Greg Sovek Productions is Greg Sovek. With some help of additional area professionals we serve as a public and private production house servicing the needs of the public and producing our own entertaining media. In the summer of 2007 we released our first independent production, a DVD titled "Cycles of Madness: Volume I." The DVD is a feature-length, informative and entertaining documentary about motorcycling. To learn more about Cycles of Madness: Volume I click here to visit the website. As a child my grandpa taught me how to draw and, having a natural talent for it, I went on to win several national art contests. Playing music for people was also fun. I remember being the young age of five and my parents having company over. I would place my stereo speakers in the heating ducts and play music so the sound would travel throughout the house for everyone to hear. Piece by piece, I began to purchase professional equipment with money I had saved from my paper route. At the age of sixteen I began to charge people for my Disc Jockey services. When it came time to go to college an art school was an obvious choice. The Art Institute of Pittsburgh was the school and graphic design was the major. After only one semester I realized graphic design was not as exciting as I anticipated. Walking by the television studio I had seen big lights, cameras, cables and equipment. I had taken and enjoyed some video production courses in high school and had plenty of technical knowledge acquired from being a DJ. I decided to switch my major to video production and two years later earned an Associate Degree in Specialized Technology. Upon graduating I had several jobs but none of them amounted to much. I had worked for a dot com company that eventually went under and a movie company that went out of business. I decided to start producing myself. After working at a country club for several years I was able to save enough money to purchase a camera and computer for editing. My first independent production "Cycles of Madness: Volume I" had dismal sales. I began to more aggressively offer my video services to the public. For added financial security I also began to pursue a teaching career. I now attend California University of Pennsylvania for Technology Education. In the future I plan to teach my technical skills to students while continuing to grow my business by offering my Graphic Design, Web Design, Disc Jockey and Video Production services to the public. I would also like to produce my own independent feature films, programming and media.
